I’m glad you’re here.
(like here on my website here, sure, but also, like, here on this earth here.)
Meet Sarah E. Nehdi, LMHC, LPC-MHSP
I’ve been a therapist for almost a decade and while I’m based in Western North Carolina, I am licensed in multiple states and meet via telehealth for your convenience. I strive to be warm, validating, and honest, helping you rediscover your values, and find joy in your identity. Joie de vivre, after all, is about finding joy in the life we create for ourselves. I’m a sucker for the color blue, SNL cast members breaking character, a super laminated croissant, and a bouquet of fresh flowers in my kitchen. I’m a proud elder millennial and I love a good pun. If we work together, you’re more than likely to meet my golden retriever, Teddy, who is the absolute goodest boy imaginable (and no, i’m not biased — I only used peer-reviewed methodologies in my practice ;).
you self-identify as a “classic eldest daughter,” perfectionist, type A, driven, career-focused, but have found lately that you are feeling burnt out, exhausted, anxious and overwhelmed
you are a member of the queer community and want to explore that identity in a safe, affirming, welcoming and informed space
you struggle with self-confidence, body image issues, and want to be able to feel neutral about your body and speak more kindly to yourself
you’ve experienced trauma as part of your family of origin and want to explore and process how that might be impacting you today
you want to dip your toe into some existential or spiritual topics in a non-judgmental space with someone who speaks your language or at least someone who can help you create your own
you want to learn coping skills, self-advocacy tools, and mindfulness strategies to take with you into your every day life to be more present, peaceful and empowered
you appreciate humor, honesty, and aren’t afraid to sit with uncomfortable feelings while understanding (or learning to understand!) that no feeling is final, no emotion is bad, and discomfort can be a way to learn
The things that bring me joy are hearing a client say, “huh… I’ve never thought about it that way!”, traveling to familiar places that give me a sense of peace and contentment, exploring new destinations that fill me with wonder and awe, and watching my dog unsuccessfully chase his tail. I’d love to meet with you and discover what we can do to bring you back to life, to enjoy a joy-filled life of your own making!
Speaking of joie…
We might be a good fit if…
